How to get to Ljubljana:

Travel to Ljubljana by plane

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik International Airport (LJU) is situated 25 km northwest of the city. It is connected with all major European cities and airports. For intercontinental flights we recommend a connecting flight via Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Vienna, London or Paris. Airport is also connected with low-fare carriers EasyJet and Wizz Air to London (STN), London (LTN) and Brussels (CRL).

Other neighbouring international airports are located at:

  • Austria (Klagenfurt 79 km, or Graz 160 km)
  • Croatia (Zagreb 135 km)
  • Italy (Trieste 120 km, Venice 220 km)

Ljubljana airport transfer

Public bus service no.28 operates to and from Ljubljana bus station and runs about every hour. The journey takes 45 minutes, the cost is around 4 Euros and you buy your tickets directly from the driver. There is also a private shuttle service running less frequently but it's a bit faster. If you take a taxi from the taxi rank in front of the airport it will cost about 35 euros.

Special arrival and departure transfers by shuttle bus service or private transfer are offered from Ljubljana airport, during the period 16th and 17th of September for arrivals and 20th and 21st of September 2014 for departures. All other dates will be considered as individual transfers.

Departures from hotels or venue is scheduled 2,5 hours before flight, exact time will be advised one (1) day before your departure at information desk at conference venue.

Jože Pučnik Airport (commonly known as Brnik Airport), Ljubljana, Slovenia to Ljubljana city

Possible forms of transfers are:

  • Shuttle bus transfer: 9€ per person (min. 4 persons, max. waiting time 1 hour, price of one-way transfer, VAT included)
  • Private transfer: 38€ per car (1 - 3 persons in car, price of one-way transfer, VAT included)
  • Group transfer: 50€ per van (4 - 7 persons in van, price of one-way transfer, VAT included)  

Shuttel bus is offered if there is minimum 4 delgates arriving within 1h. If there is less than 4 delegates, we reserves the right to offer you shared private transfer or private transfer.

Important: Transfer requests must be submitted by 15th of September 2014.

If you book a transfer, your English-speaking driver will meet you with ECHA 2014 sign located in the Arrival Hall of Jože Pučnik Airport. If you book a private transfer, please look for a sign with your full name.

Travel to Ljubljana by train

Slovenia has a developed network of railways, connecting Ljubljana Austria (via Graz and Klagenfurt) (Austria) to the north, Italy (via Trieste) to the west and Croatia (via Zagreb and Rijeka) to the west. Ljubljana's main train station, simply called "Ljubljana", is within an easy walk to the city centre.

Travel to Ljubljana by bus 

Ljubljana is well connected to neighbouring cities with bus network. More informations could be found at Ljubljana Bus Station web site.

Another option is also Flixbus, which connects Ljubljana to Vienna, Graz and Trieste.

Travel to Ljubljana by car

Ljubljana is located at the crossroads of the country's most important road routes. The purchase of a vignette is obligatory if motorways are to be used. Weekly vignette costs 15 EUR. Vignettes are sold at petrol stations in Slovenia and neighbouring countries and at branches of the national and foreign automobile clubs, at post offices in Slovenia and at some magazine stands.
